Details about the parking situation at the Botanical Garden.
The Alice Richards Children's Garden is being built in the space that was the parking lot in front of the Administration Building (formerly Callaway Building) where we will have our double workshop. That is the space where most of us used to park and where there was a number of handicap permit spaces. When you arrive next Friday, please allow enough time to park in the upper lot above the Conservatory (now called Callaway Building) to walk down to the Admin Building. This is clearly marked with Parking signs to the left when the road divides. Just past the chain link fence surrounding the construction site, you will see the two outside bathrooms and a dirt and gravel walkway to the Admin Building.
If you require handicap permit parking, follow the sign to the right which says Construction. There are three spaces just before the construction site. There is one space past the Admin Building down the dirt and gravel walkway. This is close to the wheelchair access ramp. There are also three spaces going past the upper lot to an area behind the Conservatory, but the walk from there is farther than from the upper lot. However, there is no wheelchair access from the upper lot, so if you need this accommodation, please call Marilyn 706-340-2709. Next Friday, if you cannot find a permit space, we will make sure you have a way to the wheelchair ramp and have your car parked.
